Project Overview

A local wholesale plant nursery, located in Beverley, required a durable, easy-to-maintain flooring solution for their operational area. The existing floor had a worn paint coating and needed upgrading to improve durability, safety, and overall appearance while clearly defining walkways and working zones.

Northern Star Flooring Ltd. was appointed to carry out the full preparation and installation of a high build epoxy resin flooring system, including clearly marked pedestrian walkways and demarcation lines.

The Challenge

Our Solution

Surface Preparation

To ensure maximum adhesion and longevity of the new flooring system, thorough mechanical preparation was carried out:

• Shot blasting and diamond grinding to remove the existing paint coating

• Mechanical preparation created a clean, textured surface

• Full vacuuming to ensure the floor was free from dust and contamination

High Build Epoxy Resin Flooring

• Mixed and applied a 2-part high build epoxy resin using rollers and squeegees

• First coat applied evenly across the 650m² floor area

• Once cured, a second coat was applied to achieve the required build, durability, and finish

• Final floor colour: Grey, providing a clean, professional appearance

Walkways & Demarcations

• Pedestrian walkways and working zones were carefully measured, marked out, and taped

• A 2-part fast-curing epoxy line-marking paint was mixed and applied

• Line markings were applied using rollers and brushes for accuracy

• A second coat was applied once cured to ensure clarity and long-term visibility
